The Volkswagen Kombi was a light commercial vehicle produced by the German automotive company Volkswagen between 1950 and 2013.
Its robust unibody construction (without a chassis), independent suspension with torsion bars, and the driver's eccentric seating position (seated over the front axle with the steering column almost vertical) made it a simple and sturdy vehicle with low maintenance costs.
