The Porsche 911-930 turbo "flatnose" began mass production as a factory option (M 505/506) between 1986 and 1989; an estimated 800 units were manufactured by Porsche itself. Prior to the availability of the European 506 option, one had to purchase a Porsche 930, leave it at the factory, and have the modification performed there. This happened in 1984 and 1985. In 1984, a standard Porsche 930 cost €75K, and modifying it to a Flanose version cost over 60%, or €40K more. It was even more expensive if you considered a new Porsche 930S Turbo, which came to around €130K in 1984. Special sources estimate that 184 to 204 FN units were manufactured, all handmade at the Porsche factory. Our Porsche is a 930S Turbo FN, which has a larger turbocharger, a larger intercooler, and some internal engine modifications, resulting in 330 horsepower. Regarding the options on this car, it has some that are truly rare, such as the center console. In fact, the previous owner of this vehicle installed every possible option. Mechanically, the car has its original wheels, period-correct BBS shocks, and a front oil cooler. Other options include a center console with a clock, an interior and exterior temperature gauge, and a battery voltage indicator, along with climate controls, a matching steering wheel, console, and upholstery piping. The upholstery is completely original, as is all the interior trim; nothing has been changed, and the car is in pristine, original condition. The turbo gauge is a colored LED display, another very rare option for the period, with the turbo reaching just over 1.1 bar. The car is one of the few units that were handcrafted at that time; the rear ventilation grilles on the wheel arches are made of wood, a testament to its originality. The car is a delight to drive, truly fast and offering unparalleled sensations.
